Howard J. Maresch

Howard J. Maresch, age 90, of Lincoln Place, on November 10, 2021. Beloved husband of Mary Jean (Moraca) Maresch. Father of Howard J. (Elizabeth) Maresch Jr., Diana Maresch, Karen Maresch. Also survived by 2 grandchildren, Carolyn Laich, Jonathan Maresch and 5 great grandchildren. Howard was born and raised in Munhall and was a proud graduate of Munhall High School Class of 1949. He served in the artillery of the U.S. Army from 1950-52. After returning from Germany, he started work as a carpenter and continued working through his 86th birthday. Howard married Mary Jean in 1953 and they shared 56 years of marriage prior to her death in 2009. In Howard’s later years, he lived part-time in Rogers Riviera, Emlenton, PA and was a member of Saint Michael’s Church. He was proud of his title of “Saint Michael’s Oldest Altar Boy” as he enjoyed serving at weekday morning masses and weekends in a pinch. Howard’s last few years were spent at Juniper Village of Forest Hills, where he enjoyed a very busy and fun-filled life with activities, day trips and dozens of new friends. Howard was an amazing dad, grandpap, brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed. Friends received at the William R. Welsh Funeral Home, 309 East 10th Avenue, Homestead on Friday 2-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday 10:00AM at St. Thomas the Apostle - St. Agnes Church, West Mifflin, PA, with Fr. Tony Gargotta officiating. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery Duquesne, PA.
