Mary A. Hnidka, age 95, (nee Batis) passed at home on May 5, 2022 surrounded by her loving and devoted sons.  Beloved wife of the late Milan, loving mother of Paul (Terri Zawadzki), Milan, and Patrick.  Grandmother of Diana (Asa) Wynkoop and Stephanie.

Preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.  Survived by her dear youngest sister, Irenka Jurishova, living in Kremnica, Slovakia where Mary was born to Ludovit and Anna Batisova.

Mary was an outgoing people person, whether it was with members of her church (St. Anns), Life Span, or the jobs she loved at US Steel and South Hills Health System.

"Little Mary" had an infectious laugh and sense of humor.  She could regale the dinning room table at Sunday dinners with stories of how she and her dear sister, Betty, managed to come to the USA as refugees.

She loved to cook and bake.  You never left our home with an empty stomach.  Surely, you would be sent home with a care package of delicious left overs.

Mary was so kind to everyone.  She will be missed by all who knew her, and the memory of her is so precious.

The family is indebted to her kind caregivers Nadima Humenik and Jesse Kozlowski.  They were Mary's Angels during her last chapter.
